Overlooking the rolling hills and farmlands of central Indiana, historic Terre Haute offers the friendliness and safety of a small town with the attractions of a midwestern city. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has been consistently ranked as one of the best engineering schools in the United States (U.S. News and World Report). Located in a picturesque setting, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is one of America’s oldest liberal arts colleges for women. Terre Haute is within a driving distance of 1-4 hours from Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The state capitol, Indianapolis, home of the famous “Indy 500” automobile race, is about one hour’s drive from Terre Haute.
